چکیده

Regional climate models (RCMs) are the state-of-the-art tools employed for downscaling of information from the coarse resolution global circulation models on a local scale. Due to RCMs’ increasing popularity for regional climate change studies, their validation is becoming more important. Two present climate simulations performed with the regional climate model ALADIN-Climate/CZ within a framework of the EU FP6 project CECILIA were taken to assess the model's ability to reproduce the main patterns of the climate in Central Europe. To allow a direct comparison of high-resolution model outputs with the station data over the territory of the Czech Republic a new gridded dataset with the same, 10 km, resolution was created. Some results of the first evaluation dealing with the model's performance during the control period 1961-1990 are presented here.

Statistical adaptation of ALADIN RCM outputs over the French Alps – application to future climate and snow cover

In this study, snowpack scenarios are modelled across the French Alps using dynamically downscaled variables from the ALADIN Regional Climate Model (RCM) for the control period (1961–1990) and three emission scenarios (SRES B1, A1B and A2) for the midand late 21st century (2021–2050 and 2071–2100). These variables are statistically adapted to the different elevations, aspects and slopes of the ...

On ALADIN precipitation modeling and validation in an Alpine watershed

Highly resolved precipitation forecasts are necessary in many applications, especially in mountain meteorology and flash flood forecasts for smallto medium-sized alpine watersheds. Here we present precipitation forecasts simulated by the limited area model ALADIN applying different grid resolutions (1x = 10 km and 4 km). Target area of the investigations is the Alpine Ticino-Verzasca-Maggia wat...

Simulation yield of maize based on scenarios of climate change in Fars province

The purpose of this research is the simulation of the maize function to scenario of climate change to the present and future. So to survey the region climate, daily data, maximum and minimum temperature, precipitation and radiation have been utilized during the period of (1987-2016). In order to simulating of climate in future, firstly the date of IPCM4 model under scenario and 30’s and 50’s wi...

Evaluation of Northern Hemisphere natural climate variability in multiple temperature reconstructions and global climate model simulations

The detection of anthropogenic climate change in observations and the validation of climate models both rely on understanding natural climate variability. To evaluate internal climate variability, we apply spectral analysis to time series of surface air temperature (SAT) from nine coupled general circulation model (GCM) simulations, three recent global paleotemperature reconstructions, and Nort...
